Week #13!

On Monday in class we learned about our final project which is Module #4 and we began working on it by signing up on eBook.com. I think eBook will be a very creative way to end the year with this project. We got to play around with it for a little bit like adding our information and creating a sample eBook. On Wednesday I missed class because I had a much needed appointment with my advisor over my scheduling issues I was having. I will be sure to catch up with class on Monday. Since I missed I began working on my eBook by creating my pages and making them look creative and fun. All I have left to complete is to add my information.

Week #12!

This week’s class times were dedicated to working our Module #3 projects, finishing them up, and turning them in. On Monday my group and I worked out finding noncopyrighted pictures to use within our project. We soon found out that finding these noncopyrighted images was not a simple task. On Wednesday we finished up finding all the pictures we needed and we began to edit the pictures. We had to edit the pictures in Picnik because on our presentation tool we decided to use which was Shwup, we were not allowed to add text. So I came up with the idea to edit them in Picnik then place them into the presentation. We finished up our project after class and we are all very happy with it.

On Monday in class we continued to explore throught our Module #3 project. We were introduced to Twitter and were even given some time to explore the website and follow peoples’ statuses. I personally do not understand the hype behind Twitter, I would rather use Facebook for many reasons. Towards the end of class we were allowed to meet up with our groups and discuss our projects. My group decided on repeating a short story fairy tale which we have chosen Cinderella to do. I was not in class on Wednesday due to being sick.

Week #10

This week in class we continued to discuss our Module #3 projects that has to do with us creating a video presentation. On Monday, we learned how to communicate within our groups without actually meeting face to face. I think this would be a useful tool in any project because it is an easy way to communicate. On Wednesday, we learned a few more collaboration tools which include TinyChat and Group Wikis. Our group met face to face towards the end of class and discussed what we were going to do for our presentation and what tools we were planning on using for the project. We have a pretty good start so far and hopefully will continue to get more accomplished next week in class.

Introduction to Module #3!

This week in class on Monday we learned about the new Module #3 which has to do with digital storytelling. We are required to work in groups of 4 or 5 people which I think will be a good change from just doing the projects individually. On Wednesday we were assigned our group member and were introduced to piratepad which I really think will come in handy in the future with working on projects. We were also introduced to Mix Book which we are allowed to use on this module project. I think it’s very cool and fun to work with it so far!

Module #2 Work Week!

This week in class we were able to work on our Module #2 project using Powerpoint, Prezi, or Microsoft Word. For my project I am using Prezi to fulfill my topic of Speech Pathology. I really enjoy using Prezi because I feel that it is the most logical option to use for this type of project. Our class on Wendesday was cancelled but I still continued to work on my project at home.

Week 7!

This week in class was a preparation week for the Module #2 project that is due in a couple weeks. We explored how to use Microsoft Powerpoint and all of the components to create a well organized presentation that flows smoothly. I learned a lot from this being discussed because before I really only knew the basics of Powerpoint, now I feel like I have a better understanding of what to do and I hope to create a well organized Module #2 project!

Week 6!

This week in class we discovered new ways to arrange information and create ordering for projects. On Monday, we created a venn diagram on the Inspiration Workshop discussing our friends, family, and hobbies. On Wednesday, we learned about a new website called Prezi, which created a show of our ideas. I really enjoy this website so far and I think it’s very neat and would enjoy using it in the future!

After last week’s work days and finally finishing up Module #1, we discussed our next Module that will be due shortly and talked about how it should be set up. I missed Wednesday’s class due to not feeling well but I’m sure I will be able to catch up next week!

Ed 217-Working on Module #1

This week in class we had a class discussion about our Module #1 project on Monday and on Wednesday we had an in class work day. We had to find ten websites that we felt would help a person in their career. I feel that this project will help in the long run because it allows us to explore and discover new websites; many in which didn’t know that even existed.
